My relationship with beauty began at eight years of age, in a slanted house on a San Francisco hill. After deciding I no longer wanted my mother to press, tease, or relax my hair, I taught myself to braid using the strands of her hair and my own.
At thirteen, a family friend bought me my first real set of beauty supplies, and by fourteen, I was doing everyone’s hair and makeup for free. What began as childhood play evolved into a craft, taking me from a kitchen hairstylist to a licensed cosmetologist, and ultimately to a formulator and business owner.
Over the years, caring for others became second nature; leaving little time to pour back into myself.
At 44, I began noticing changes in my own hair and skin: shifts in texture, greying strands, lack of moisture, changes in density, and the realities of having fibroids. After a big chop, I started using more natural haircare products, which sparked a new curiosity: How are these products actually made, and what does maturing hair and skin really need?
Research revealed that caring for maturing hair and skin is deeply rooted in what nutrients you put into your body, the ingredients you apply externally, and how well you take care of your overall well being.
Implementing health practices, such as checking hormones through bloodwork, having a solid beauty routine, and slowing down long enough to reduce stress levels, is key. This holistic understanding became the foundation for TR3SSENCE Beauty, a botanical approach that bridges internal health with external care.
Beauty is about the complete relationship we have with our hair, scalp, skin, and senses. I fell in love with the artistry of fragrance as a pathway to emotional and sensory well being. Formulating rich, concentrated oil based scents, including select 100% natural botanical blends, became a natural extension of this philosophy. Designed to prepare the skin, ground the mind, and nourish the body, these rituals elevate daily self-care into an intimate, deeply comforting experience.
We were never given a blueprint for the transitions of maturing. TR3SSENCE is my contribution to that conversation, offering products, rituals, and knowledge to help you understand what is changing and how intention honors your own evolution.
Because we come from nature, indulging in her finest botanicals is a return to what has always been within us. Cultivating my own journey has been the ultimate act of self love, and it is my personal invitation for you to do the same.
